ADVERTISING TITLE: DISTRIBUTED COMPUTER SYSTEMS ANALYST
This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Apalachee Correctional Institution in the Field Technology Services Department. This position reports to Central Office in Tallahassee, FL.
The purpose of the Distributed Computer Systems Analyst is to ensure reliable operation, maintenance, and support of computer systems and networks across multiple Department sites by planning, installing, troubleshooting, and coordinating technology infrastructure, providing technical assistance, and maintaining inventory and documentation.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
  • Provides technical support for computer systems and equipment at various Department sites, including institutions, offices, and community facilities.
  • Plans, designs, installs, and troubleshoots local area networks and client/server systems, connecting computers and maintaining network documentation.
  • Installs and supports statewide or distributed computer networks, coordinates site surveys, manages equipment orders, and works with contractors for installation and troubleshooting.
  • Sets up and maintains network computers, loads software, and handles system management tasks like backup, recovery, and problem-solving.
  • Offers help desk support, maintains inventory of equipment, and collaborates with other Department areas and agencies to resolve data processing issues.
