Title: Extraction Technician
Pay Range: $19.50 - 21.50/hr
Location: Tooele, UT
Job Type: Full Time | Non-Exempt
Shift: Monday-Friday | 7:00am - 3:30pm
Who You Are:
You have experience working in a production or lab environment and are comfortable operating within strict SOPs and GMP standards. You bring strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to work efficiently in a C1D1 environment. You're familiar with or eager to learn CO₂ extraction processes, including biomass preparation and equipment operation.
You maintain a clean, compliant workspace and can follow precise procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality output. You work well within a team, communicate effectively, and stay focused on meeting production goals without compromising safety or quality.
What You'll Do:
As an Extraction Technician at Curaleaf, you'll support end-to-end extraction and refinement processes, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production of cannabis concentrates. You'll operate specialized equipment in a C1D1 environment while adhering to strict SOPs, GMPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate extraction and refinement equipment, including solventless systems, short path distillation, and rotary evaporators
  • Prepare biomass (grinding, packing dry and fresh/frozen material) and extraction processes with precision
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize extraction and lab equipment to ensure consistent performance and uptime
  • Follow SOPs and GMPs while accurately documenting batch records and production data for compliance and consistency
  • Safely handle hazardous materials (compressed gases, and solvents) using proper PPE and safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant lab environment, including sterilization of glassware and equipment
  • Support inventory management and ensure proper tracking of materials, chemicals, and lab supplies
  • Collaborate with the lab team to meet production goals and support additional tasks such as packaging as needed

What You'll Bring:
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow SOPs and execute technical processes with consistency and accuracy
  • Experience in a production, manufacturing, or lab environment, with a solid understanding of compliance and quality standards
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet production schedules
  • Comfortable using computer systems for data entry, material tracking, and documentation
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a team-driven environment
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with a proactive approach to learning new equipment and processes

  • Prior experience in hydrocarbon extraction, with a foundational understanding of extraction processes and equipment
  • A degree in a related science or engineering field
  • Working knowledge of cannabis and cannabis extracts, including refinement techniques and product quality standards

  • This position has allergen warnings, potential exposure to dust, pollen, and plant pathogens, and requires daily use of provided PPE, such as masks, hair nets, beard covers, respirators, boot covers, scrubs, non-slip shoes, and Tyvek suits as necessary, has exposure to loud noises, including but not limited to air compressors, packaging equipment, and alarms, has exposure to CO2 manufacturing procedures at OSHA approved CO2 levels, requires high-stress tolerance, adaptability, and flexibility, as well as the ability to work in an ever-changing environment.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, use hands to finger or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb and balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
