Job description

This position is responsible for communicating orders and information between the front of the house and back of the house; assembles food orders, assists in checking for accuracy, presentation, and quality control; ensures all orders for one table are ready at the same time and delivered to the table while still hot (or cold for desserts).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Reads tickets and monitors the preparation of dishes and the fulfillment of orders, with special attention to dietary restrictions.
  • Calls out orders to chefs, informing staff of special needs or instructions for meals.
  • Checks food orders for temperature, accuracy, and presentation.
  • Notifies servers when food is ready to serve.
  • Alerts servers when the kitchen is out of specific ingredients.
  • Thoroughly knowledgeable on the menu and various daily features.
  • Performs all duties on the Expo checklist.
  • Complies with company, local, state, and national regulations pertaining to food quality, cleanliness and sanitation standards, alcohol service, personnel, and safety.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 1-year related experience in a high-volume, high energy, food and beverage environment.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.
  • The employee frequently is required to operate and use kitchen station tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.
  • The employee must move up to 30 pounds frequently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

  • Food handler safety certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
