Job description


The BAS Lead Technician will manage and oversee the BAS strategy and plan established for the North American portfolio. The BAS Lead Technician will need to have the ability to troubleshoot, install, service or program building automation systems. Other duties related to assisting in the commissioning and servicing of building controls and facilities management systems.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Program databases for all supported systems to meet specified sequences of operation and equipment manufacturers' recommendations, in accordance with company standards and contract documents.
  • Perform calibration and check-out of control systems and ensure that specified sequence of operations and commissioning obligations are met.
  • Assist the graphics coordinator and/or provide the labor and expertise for the preparation and delivery of graphical user interfaces when required for projects.
  • Instruct customer's personnel on operation and maintenance of temperature control systems and energy conversation routines.
  • Monitor BAS systems, equipment performance and resolve issues.
  • Interact and schedule maintenance tasks aligned with issues alarmed or noticed on the BAS system.
  • Standardizations of BAS architecture across multiple facilities in locations in North America.
  • Manage and oversee the BAS Reliability program currently being used.

Qualifications
Skills, Education and Experience:
  • Two or more (2+) years of DDC/BAS control system start-up, checkout, and service experience
  • Valid driver license
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management
  • The ability to understand control theories and to understand field devices and instrumentation in respect to HVAC systems.
  • Programming and troubleshooting skills with ABB, Siemens, KMC, Distech, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
  • Experience with pneumatic controls
  • IP networking experience which would include; subnets, VLANs, routing, routers, and firewalls.
  • Training and mentoring other BAS technicians and facility management teams.

Salary Range Language
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $95,000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package (including health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching), this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).
