Disposition Specialist

Location: On-site | NSWCCD, Bethesda, MD Clearance Level: Department of Defense issued Secret Clearance or higher Employment Type: Full-time | On-site Overview: The Disposition Specialist will provide comprehensive logistics and material management support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD). This position plays a critical role in ensuring the proper disposition, accountability, and certification of government materials in accordance with Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Disposition Services (DLADS) and Navy requirements. Key Responsibilities: Integrate and manage the full spectrum of logistics processes across operational, acquisition, and wholesale environments. Direct integrated logistics efforts, develop and implement support policies, procedures, and systems, and provide program guidance. Prepare and enforce directives to ensure effective logistics and material management support. Establish and maintain standards to ensure the assigned workforce is properly trained and equipped. Develop, initiate, integrate, and manage logistics actions supporting life cycle management of weapons systems, subsystems, and equipment. Coordinate with material custodians and DLA Disposition Services (DLADS) for proper material disposal and documentation. Generate DD Form 1348-1s and ensure compliance with DLA disposal and certification requirements. Required Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in the disposal of government materials. Demonstrated experience working with DLA Disposition Services (DLADS), generating DD1348-1 forms, and coordinating directly with custodians. Familiarity with DLA disposal certification requirements and ability to obtain certification from on-site subject matter experts. Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail. Desired Qualifications: Experience identifying and categorizing government materials. Working knowledge of Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Prior experience supporting Navy or DoD logistics programs. Additional Requirements: Must possess an active Department of Defense Secret Clearance or higher. Must be able to work on-site full-time at NSWCCD, Bethesda, MD.
