BANQUET SET-UP/SERVER
The Crowne Plaza Portland Downtown - Convention Center is seeking a Banquet Set-up/Server to join our team. The Banquet Set-Up/Server is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience through timely setup, food amp; beverage service, and tear down of banquet functions.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
  • Principles of providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Displays knowledge of safety practices and procedures regarding fire or other emergency situations in the banquet department.
  • Food and beverage service standards and appropriate table settings.
  • Banquet space and set up procedures and standards.
  • Basic mathematical calculations.
Skills and Ability to:
  • Physical strength and manual dexterity to operate necessary equipment and perform required duties.
  • Actively listen and give full attention to guests, asking questions when necessary to find out how to best meet their needs.
  • Multi-task and maintain composure in a fast paced environment while handling frequent interruptions.
  • Manage one’s time in order to meet productivity standards.
  • Communicate effectively in the English language with guests and co-workers in order to accurately receive and convey information.
  • Wear appropriate uniform and slip resistant footwear according to the standards of the position and company policy.
  • Acknowledge, understand and abide by company programs, policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Meet attendance requirements with dependability and consistency.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years banquet/food service or related experience preferred.
Licenses:
  • Valid Food Handler Permit required.
  • Valid Alcohol Server Permit required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, lift, carry, crouch, kneel, push, pull, reach, push, pull, stoop, grasp and see.
