Job description

Reporting to the Director of Volunteers and Gift Shop, the Gift Shop Associate will also have responsibility for opening and/or closing the Gift Shop, assisting with inventory, display set up, and direct sales with customers.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (including but not limited to): 
1.    Works directly in the Gift Shop and shares responsibility for opening and closing processes.  
2.    Assists the Gift Shop Manager with pricing, inventory management, and display setup.
3.    Works the “floor” in the gift shop and provides excellent customer service to all visitors, staff, and patients.
4.    Operates the cash register and credit card machine to compute and record purchased items from customers. Resolves issues as needed.
5.    Ensures displays are maintained cleanly and neatly. Ensures deliveries such as inventory orders, and flower deliveries are on time and complete.
6.    Ensures all daily receipts are tallied appropriately and deposited according to hospital policy and protocol. Works with the Manager to resolve any issues.

Minimum Qualifications: 
1.    Must possess knowledge and experience generally acquired by High School diploma or equivalent experience.
2.    Excellent customer service skills need to serve and support, patients, staff, and visitors.
3.    Strong organizational skills and familiarity with MS Office applications such as WORD and Excel are required.
4.    Demonstrates the ability to be nimble, and flexible and work both as a member of a team while working autonomously when needed. 
5.    Must possess retail management experience to work in Gift Shop, understand inventory, display set up, sales, and cashiering.

Physical Requirements & Environment: 
1.    Ability to remain standing for extended periods of time to perform merchandising, cashiering, and customer service in the Gift Shop
2.    Ability to lift and carry inventory up to 20 lbs.
 

Pay Range:

$17.00 - $22.88

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
