Job description

Hire Score is recruiting a Display Project Manager for one of our primary clients. This is a full-time, on-site role in New Jersey. Our client is a leading global in-store retail fixtures firm that provides end-to-end designing, sourcing, and manufacturing solutions to its clients, with the aim of enhancing their clientsโ€™ ROI by creating cost-effective and motivating in-store experiences for shoppers. Role Overview

The Display Project Manager will manage the execution of production orders delivering against predetermined client financial and scheduling objectives. Client Management and Product Development arenas supporting the team also fall within the purview of this role, including travel to domestic and international supplier and client sites as needed.


Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Conduct project โ€œkick offโ€ meetings prior to the start of a production order. Bring engineering and manufacturing groups together for project โ€œkick offโ€ meetings.
  • Create internal and customer timelines.
  • Manage the execution of production orders delivering against predetermined client, financial, and scheduling objectives.
  • Responsible for managing the โ€œProject Checklistโ€ and โ€œProduction Check-Off Listโ€ on all production orders.
  • Work with sales, engineering, model shop, assembly, production, and the Partners to keep jobs on schedule.
  • Organize Project Profit and Loss Statements, pre and post job.
  • Perform and approve first article inspections on manufactured items, outsourced or internal.
  • Suggest amendments to project management tools/processes as needed.


Product Development & Operations

  • Work closely with Product Development & Operations, Project Leads, QAE, and the Model Shop to ensure prototypes are produced accurately and to specification.
  • Source new suppliers for new items or to add to the current supplier base.
  • Visit suppliers as needed while production is in process. Bring production samples back to engineering for inspection.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve non-conforming component issues.
  • Continue to learn the materials and manufacturing processes in the industry, including LED Lighting.


Quality Assurance

  • Ensure all critical project checkpoints are met prior to shipping.
  • Ensure production according to plan covering engineering requirements, color matches, aesthetics, functionality, hardware, instruction sheets, and pack-out.


Client Interaction

  • Transcend into the โ€œClientโ€ Project Management and Product Development arenas, which may require significant client contact and travel to clients.
  • Learn Retail Store Environments to understand the challenges faced with displays in-store.
  • Help in customer service as needed. Some clients may call in to discuss installation or functionality related issues with their display.


Data Management & Documentation

  • Enter Excel quotations into the Vantage database.
  • Create Vantage part numbers following Trinity guidelines.
  • Create jobs for model shop and assembly.
  • Responsible for vendor purchase orders.
  • Contact suppliers to ensure terms and conditions of orders are met.
  • Create internal and customer timelines.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Project Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or related discipline. Lean/Six Sigma certification and PMP certifications are strongly preferred.
  • Project Management experience including creating and managing project timelines, checklists, and profit and loss statements, and coordinating directly with clients on project delivery.
  • Operations experience in retail display, fixtures, lighting, or related custom manufacturing businesses. Ability to manage projects that involve coordinating materials and manufacturing processes, demand forecasting, production planning and schedules, order processing, invoicing, supplier sourcing and management etc.
  • Technical proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP or CRM systems to create and manage quotations, part numbers, and other data.
  • Open to a full-time onsite role and national/international travel to client and/or vendor sites.
