Job Description
Essential Functions
Promotes and follows all safety requirements as well as good manufacturing practices (GMPs) in job performance as well as during any and all time spent on company property. Are expected to actively participate in general site and departmental Safety initiatives. Collect all process related hazardous wastes and transport to accumulation drums. Set up and operate equipment in dispensing operations. Verify scales. Make routine adjustments to equipment as required. Disassemble, clean, and reassemble equipment and dispensing rooms per SOP regulations. Inspect dispensing rooms and equipment for required state of safety and cleanliness. Locate and gather raw materials needed to dispense specified quantities for the batch. Perform calculations required to insure proper dispensing of materials. Dispense and weigh ingredients using appropriate scales and equipment. Place dispensed materials in containers that have been prepared according to instructions and SOP. Perform Raw Material status check functions in BPCS, and generate labels. Prepare and affix labels for each material dispensed. Obtain batch records from Document Control to perform work assignments. Organize containers of dispensed materials on pallets for blending process. Record weights, equipment, calculations and other information required on appropriate paperwork (batch folders, equipment records, inventory records, etc.) to insure documentation prescribed by SOPs and government regulations. Return all undispensed raw materials to proper location. Assist in the training of new Dispensing Technicians and cross training technicians. Perform other duties as assigned by supervision or as required by the job. Complete all assigned tasks and documentation accurately and according to standard. Work and communicate effectively in a team environment. Continuous improvement focused and quality oriented as such is expected to participate in related activities and events. Learn to write SOP's of basic level complexity. Willing and able to perform all level I functions. Acceptable attendance. Maintains control of DEA scheduled material in accordance with accepted policy, practice, and procedure. Incorporates core values (Quality, Integrity and Service) in all activities
Marginal Functions:
1. May be crossed-trained in other functions.
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands: Physical/visual activities or demands that are commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
1. Heavy physical demand requires frequent moving, pushing, pulling, rolling and dumping of up to 100 kg and manual lifting of up to 25 kg. Physical demand also involves walking and standing (70%), balancing, bending, kneeling and reaching (15%), grasping and feeling (5%) and communicating (10%).
2. Mental demand is frequent requiring attention to details of specific manufacturing instructions and recording of information on paperwork.
3. Visual demand is continuous and requires clarity of vision at 20 inches or less and 20 feet or more with peripheral vision and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus, to judge distance and space relationships and to identify and distinguish.
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
1. Exposure to pure raw materials requires incumbent to wear a respirator on a regular basis.
2. Protective clothing and equipment including uniform shirt and slacks, jacket, safety glasses, booties, hairnet, gloves, dust mask, hearing protection, PAPR and a tyvek suit are worn continuously in the performance of the job functions.
3. Work hazards include exposure to dust, odors, cleaning agents, noise, and vibration.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High School diploma or GED required. Basic knowledge and the ability to apply mathematical concepts, spelling, English, and grammar.
Experience:
Level I: Preferred minimum of three to twelve months' experience under direct supervision and guidance in order to gain sufficient skill to perform the requirements of the position;
Level II: Preferred minimum 1 year experience, demonstrated ability to perform all functions of the role;
License(s)/Certification(s) Required: Certification in operation motorized pallet jacks and end stackers.
