POSITION SUMMARY:

The Dispatcher ensures timely deliveries, resolves logistical issues, and maintains accurate records of transportation activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Route Planning and Coordination:

  • Plan and coordinate delivery routes for drivers based on factors such as distance, traffic, and customer requests.
  • Optimize routes to maximize efficiency and minimize delivery times, fuel consumption, and vehicle wear and tear.

Dispatching and Communication:

  • Dispatch drivers to assigned routes and provide them with detailed instructions, schedules, and relevant information.
  • Maintain constant communication with drivers via phone, radio, or messaging systems to provide updates, directions, and assistance as needed.

Customer Service:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing updates on delivery status.
