As a CDL Class A Truck Driver at Springfield Plastics, you will deliver and unload plastic drainage pipe and fittings to contractors, farmers, and wholesale distributors primarily throughout the mid-west to fulfill their drainage needs.

HOME TIME - Our CDL Class A Truck Drivers are home most nights. They average 1 overnight trip per week throughout the year.

PAY - Springfield Plastics, Inc. CDL Class A Truck Drivers are paid by the mile. Our current starting mileage rate is $0.40/mile. Truck Drivers are also paid drop fees. Our current drop rates are $13/first drop and $10/each additional drop. Truck Drivers are also paid hourly for extra time at drop sites, breakdowns, traffic jams, cleaning their trucks, etc. Our currently hour starting rate is $18/hour. Mileage rates are reviewed at 60 days, 6 months and 12 months, then annually.

NO LAYOFFS - Our Truck Drivers are not put out of work during slow seasons! They are able to work on-site at Springfield Plastics, Inc. so they are able to still receive a full week of pay!

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Class A CDL Required
  • Current Medical Examiners Certification
  • 1 year tractor/trailer driving experience required
  • Knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • No recent moving or driving violations
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Comfortable with use of EDLs
  • Lift 75 pounds above the head
  • Able to stand, climb, squat, bend, crouch, push, pull and reach repeatedly for up to 12 hours per day
