Job description

Logistics Coordinator

Roberts Energy/Brown Bear Transportation is currently seeking an experienced Dispatcher. This is a great opportunity for someone who strives to be the best – adding value as a team member and to our customers. We are growing rapidly and growth will be a continued part of our culture, strategy, and structure.

Core Responsibilities

The Dispatcher will be responsible for creating and entering orders, building and maintaining routes, and building delivery schedules for customers on inventory management. The Dispatcher will have to pull information from our 300 inventory sites using two systems and create orders and routes in our automated dispatch systems, This position will need to work directly with Customer Service, Sales, and Supply to on-board new customers, take orders, and move drivers effectively to the right supply points at the right times.

The Dispatcher will report directly to the Operations Manager, working among a team of dispatchers to ensure operation efficiency, and helping manage the department to great customer service and high performance. They will work with a team of dispatchers, all on different shifts. Some on-call duties are required, but the Dispatcher will split on-call duties among other operations personnel.

Delivery and Inventory Management

· Plan deliveries daily

· Assimilate information from a variety of sources and prioritize needs

· Identify what was sold and anticipate customer fuel needs

· Determine who needs a delivery, identifying most critical/least critical

· Assess market impact on deliveries, Interact with CSR about orders and design load strategies if needed

· Schedule deliveries to eliminate run outs

Dispatching

· Meet delivery windows on all loads, every day, every time

· Assign deliveries to best manage costs efficiently

· Coordinate with drivers and haulers to achieve delivery goals

· Develop strategies to minimize empty miles traveled Identify creative ways to help increase profitability of loads within the boundaries of safety and DOT standards

Job Requirements

· Able to work a fixed schedule - 5 days

· Able to work with minimal supervision

· Dispatch experience is preferred but not required

· Strong communication and customer service skills necessary

· Prior gas/fuel industry experience a plus

· Able to make effective decisions

· Position requires availability for shared “on-call” rotation
