We are currently seeking an experienced and organized Service Department Production Manager / Dispatcher to join our team at Lou Fusz Mazda. This position plays a critical role in maintaining shop productivity, ensuring efficient workflow, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This is a union position that isgoverned by the District No. 9, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers A.F.L. - C.I.O.

Responsibilities
  • Dispatch repair orders to technicians based on skill level, availability, and workload.
  • Monitor shop productivity and ensure work is progressing efficiently throughout the day.
  • Coordinate daily workflow between service advisors, technicians, parts personnel, and management.
  • Maintain proper scheduling and distribution of work to maximize technician efficiency and shop throughput.
  • Track vehicle status and communicate updates to service advisors.
  • Assist in reducing repair cycle times while maintaining quality standards.
  • Prioritize customer waiters, appointment vehicles, and special requests.
  • Review open repair orders and identify opportunities to improve workflow.
  • Work closely with the parts department to minimize delays and maximize productivity.
  • Ensure technicians have the information and resources needed to complete repairs successfully.
  • Support service department goals related to customer satisfaction, efficiency, and profitability.
Qualifications
  • Previous automotive service department experience preferred.
  • Experience as a dispatcher, production manager, shop foreman, service advisor, or similar role is highly desirable.
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with customers, technicians, and coworkers.
