Operations Manager - Power Solutions Logistics

Midland, TX, United States

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve efficient hauling operations for logistics movements.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in partnership with HSE.
  • Establish financial plans, utilization targets, and KPI goals.
  • Optimize fleet utilization while balancing internal fleet capacity and third-party carriers.
  • Ensure 100% on-time deliveries and uninterrupted supply to job sites.
  • Recruit, hire, schedule, develop, and, when necessary, terminate drivers, dispatchers, and support staff.
  • Ensure DOT compliance and safe fleet operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of all trucking regulations.
  • Review logs, DVIRs, violations, and other compliance documentation.
  • Monitor and validate Hours of Service compliance.
  • Manage KPIs including utilization, service, revenue, and costs.
  • Motivate employees to achieve performance goals while maintaining legal compliance.
  • Verify drivers understand schedules, assignments, and delivery requirements.
  • Ensure shipping documentation is accurate, complete, and distributed appropriately.
  • Analyze mileage, payroll, overtime, and labor utilization to control costs.
  • Conduct coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions when necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of the oilfield industry, products, and services.
  • Ability to develop and improve hauling capabilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of trucking regulations.

Strong operational, leadership, and organizational skills.

Language Requirement

  • Ability to understand, speak, receive, and respond to operational and safety-related communications in English.

Experience Requirements

  • 4-5 years of domestic shipping and logistics experience preferred.

Experience supporting transportation of materials for Oil & Gas or Energy customers preferred.

Working Conditions

  • Shifts longer than 8 hours may be required.
  • Work performed in both office and field environments.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures and operational hazards.
  • Limited travel requirements.
  • Primarily sedentary office work with occasional standing and walking.

Frequent computer work, typing, communication, and administrative oversight responsibilities.

Level of Responsibility
