Job Summary:

The Route Planning & Merchandising Specialist manages daily scheduling and merchandising activities for Smart Service routes while optimizing route efficiency and performance. This role leverages analytical skills, business acumen, and cross-functional collaboration to maximize operational efficiencies and support business results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage daily scheduling for vending and micro market routes.
  • Analyze route performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Adjust route schedules based on business needs and operational requirements.
  • Provide operational updates and recommendations to improve route performance.
  • Utilize Cantaloupe scheduling software to plan and maintain routes.
  • Use Cantaloupe merchandising tools to optimize product assortment and route merchandising.
  • Communicate daily with the Pick Line Supervisor, Drivers, Customer Success Managers (CSMs), Dispatcher, and Service Manager regarding schedule changes, planogram
  • (POG) updates, merchandising opportunities, missed picks, skipped stops, and other operational issues.
  • Partner with the Dispatcher and Service Manager to ensure proper device connectivity and telemetry communication.
  • Communicate scheduling and merchandising updates to key stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and operational insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Analytics, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience in route planning, logistics, merchandising, inventory management, or related operational functions preferred.
  • Strong analytical, statistical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to evaluate business operations and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, analytics platforms, and related technology.Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with route optimization, scheduling, and merchandising software preferred.
