Position Overview

The Dispatch Supervisor provides support to employees and oversees the fleet of vehicles assigned to the specified branch or area. They assign, review, and participate in the necessary tasks relative to executing deliveries for internal and external customers while ensuring adherence to established goals, budget, policies, and procedures.

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise the execution of departmental plans to achieve objectives in safety, quality, schedule, efficiency, and continuous improvement. 
  • Monitor phone and radio traffic to ensure world-class service, along with procedural compliance and efficiency.
  • Conduct quality assurance feedback and coaching sessions with assigned employees at regular intervals.
  • Communicate with customers, subordinates, peers, and supervisors to explain and answer operational and procedural questions, handle complaints/concerns from customers, employees, and safety department. Complete notifications to the appropriate person(s) as needed.
  • Operate and monitor digital communications systems: Computer Aided Dispatch and Radio System; provide initial troubleshooting assistance and report appropriate failure to the correct person(s).
  • Partner with branch leadership to understand and implement new technologies and ways of working to help positively impact business performance.

Skills We Are Seeking
  • 1-2 years’ experience in prior dispatch or transportation supervisory position
  • Experience using robust dispatch, routing, or scheduling systems or software
  • Proven experience delivering world-class service; knowledge of procedures and guidelines for handling emergency situations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ready and willing to learn and adopt new technologies and ways of working
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
