Job description

Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons, but there's one thing that nearly everyone does: play video games. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games.
We're looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join Discord's Corporate Finance team. The Corporate Finance team sits at the center of Discord's financial operations: responsible for financial planning and forecasting, strategic analysis, equity programs and capital markets activities. The team regularly works alongside senior leaders across the business to shape Discord's financial future.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Corporate Finance, you'll play a central role on a small, high-ownership team with lots of opportunity for growth. This role will be responsible for some of Discord's highest-impact workstreams and processes, including: owning our financial planning tool, partnering with cross-functional teams, building financial models, and supporting strategic projects. In this role, you will gain invaluable experience that offers autonomy, interactions with business partners, and the opportunity to impact a rapidly growing business.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Drive Internal Forecasting and Reporting: Support monthly and long-range forecasting and own reporting for various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build Strategic Financial Models: Develop and maintain analyses that inform Discord's complex, high-stakes strategic initiatives and projects.
  • Support Cross-Functional Initiatives: Partner with Total Rewards, Legal, and Accounting on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making across equity programs, compensation and more.
  • Leverage AI and Drive Efficiency Across Core Finance Processes. Apply generative-AI and advanced analytics tools to accelerate modeling, improve processes, and streamline reporting.

What You Should Have
  • 3+ years of experience in investment banking, consulting, or high-growth tech FP&A, with heavy financial-modeling ownership.
  • Excel mastery. You build financial models from scratch. You have opinions about model architecture. You care about formula cleanliness, audit trails, and getting things right.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, working exceptionally well cross-functionally and with multiple constituents.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of valuation and accounting concepts, equity, and stock-based compensation are a plus.
  • Experience with FP&A tools and/or programming experience for automating workflows and handling large datasets is a plus.

Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area. Relocation assistance may be available.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $152,000 to $171,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
Why Discord?
Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We're a multiplatform, multigenerational and multiplayer platform that helps people deepen their friendships around games and shared interests, and helps developers build and grow their businesses. We believe games give us a way to have fun with our favorite people, whether listening to music together or grinding in competitive matches for diamond rank. Join us in our mission! Your future is just a click away!
Discord is committed to inclusion and providing reasonable accommodations during the interview process. We want you to feel set up for success, so if you are in need of reasonable accommodations, please let your recruiter know.
