Main Function
RPC Men's Minister's primary responsibility is to effectively shepherd and connect the men at RockPointe Church in alignment with RockPointe Church's mission of loving God with all that we are while making more and better followers of Christ.
Administrative
  • Oversee budget development in for Men's Ministry and operate within the approved ministry budget
  • Prepare and manage annual programming calendar for Men's Ministry
  • Prepare annual/bi-annual ministry goals and reports
  • Conduct ECR(s) (Encouragement and Coaching Review) for direct report(s)
  • Oversee church-wide communication for areas of ministry responsibility
  • Work with RPC's Creative Team for any Men's Ministry publicity requests or event/class collateral
  • Lead weekly Men's Ministry team meeting
  • Attend and contribute to the following staff meetings: All Staff (1st/3rd Tuesday), Church Operations (1st/3rd Tuesday), Adult Discipleship (1st/3rd Tuesday), and Men's Leadership Council (1st Tuesday)

Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Clear understanding of, and commitment to modeling our RPC Staff Values
  • Handle and safeguard confidential church information
  • Actively attend Sunday worship services
  • Outreach: Develop, implement, and take ownership for church outreach strategies, training, and implementations; these initiatives should be evangelistic in nature and primarily non-event driven
  • Inreach: Create and oversee opportunities to connect, engage, and challenge men in biblical community; foster and shepherd their spiritual development for personal growth and disciple making opportunities
  • Meet with and disciple men individually as needed
  • Manage/vet and oversee all Men's Ministry events and classes
  • Support other ministries as needs arise (lead 'Membership Matters' class, get men connected to serve, etc.)
  • Make connection calls for those interested in Men's Ministry
  • Work in coordination with Women's Minister and Marriage Pastor to provide counseling support to our men
  • Represent Men's Ministry at 'Dinner with the Pastor' (monthly) to connect with new men and answer questions about Men's Ministry
  • Manage baptism requests for men by meeting with and ensuring baptism candidates have a firm understanding of salvation in Christ and have made a faith commitment
  • Conduct hospital and in-home visits and other Care Team needs or requests
  • Teach/preach as needed on Sunday mornings/Wednesday evenings in support of Lead Pastors
  • Officiate funerals and weddings as requests are received from families
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Skills& Attributes
  • Formal theological training required; seminary education preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years church ministry experience that includes men's ministry
  • Basic knowledge of, or ability to learn, platforms used by RockPointe Church: Bamboo, TouchPoint, eSpace, Nexonia, Martus, Asana, Canva, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Task-oriented mindset
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of people compassionately and patiently
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with a high degree of accuracy
  • Operate as a self-starter and comfortable in a fast-paced environment

Current Ministry Offerings
  • Men's Night: Men's Night is the primary anchor event for Men's Ministry. It often serves as the first touch point for men as they are acclimated to RPC. Men's Minister and the MM team schedule/vet speakers, request worship or other supplemental ministry needs, host/emcee the event, coordinate event details such as food, seating, scheduling space, etc.
  • Coffee Groups: Coffee groups help men develop connected relationships with other men at RPC. Men's Minister oversees Coffee Group Leaders while encouraging and equipping them to shepherd their group. Men's Minister and team are also responsible for developing new coffee groups twice a year through a coffee group formation class.
  • Bible Studies: Men's Ministry provides Tuesday evening, Wednesday morning, and Sunday morning Bible study class offerings. Men's Minister vets/oversees all class curriculum and selects, trains, and supports the Bible Study leaders.
  • Mentoring: Mentoring offers one-on-one discipleship amongst RPC men. Men's Minister scales this ministry as needs arise by equipping men to mentor and connect mentees.
  • Miscellaneous Annual Events: RPC Men's Ministry offers yearly events to connect our men and reach men in the community; examples to include Men's Golf Tournament and Father/Son Pure Adventure event.
