Job description

Position Type: Full Time (Exempt)

Direct Supervisor: Student Minister

Position Summary: Leads the relational and discipleship efforts of Shades Student Ministry among middle school students by investing in students, equipping volunteers, and implementing the ministry's vision and strategy.

Position Profile:

  • Passionate about reaching and discipling students with the Gospel.
  • Gifted in recruiting, developing, and caring for volunteer leaders.
  • Relationally driven with students, parents, and leaders.
  • A strong communicator and discipler.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to execute ministry plans effectively.
  • Humble, teachable, and emotionally mature.
  • A collaborative team player who supports the vision of Shades Students.
  • Called to student ministry within the local church.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and champion the discipleship of middle school students within Shades Students.
  • Build meaningful relationships with middle school students and their families while providing pastoral care and spiritual guidance.
  • Recruit, train, equip, and shepherd volunteer leaders who serve middle school students.
  • Foster a healthy culture of discipleship, leadership development, and care among students and leaders.
  • Oversee the implementation of ministry environments and initiatives for middle school students.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of Student Camp, Crave Weekend, mission trips, and other student ministry events.
  • Collaborate with the Student Minister, High School Minister, and Student Ministry Coordinator to accomplish ministry goals and objectives.
  • Support the broader mission of the church by embracing the mission, values, and ministry strategy of Shades and assisting with church-wide initiatives as needed.
  • Perform other related duties that may benefit the church as assigned by the Student Minister or Executive Staff.
