The General Board of Global Ministries is the worldwide mission, relief, and development agency of The United Methodist Church, working with partners and churches in more than 115 countries to equip and transform people and places for Godโ€™s mission. Global Ministries connects the church in mission through the sending of missionaries, evangelism and church revitalization, disaster response and recovery led by the United Methodist Committee on Relief, and global health.

About the Role:ย 
Sr. Manager of Information Technology โ€“ Infrastructure & Operations is responsible for delivering high-level strategic and operational direction for the agencyโ€™s core technological architecture, enterprise networks, and computing environments. Serving as the primary operational partner to the Senior Director of Information Technology, this position is tasked with translating organizational tech policy into daily execution, overseeing resilient data center operations, and leading specialized technical personnel managing systems, virtualization, collaboration tools, and audiovisual technologies. The incumbent assumes senior operational authority during the absence of the Senior Director, managing comprehensive risk management, system uptime, and continuous enhancement of IT services.

Key Responsibilities:
โ€ขย ย  ย Provide leadership and oversight of IT infrastructure and operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and high performing systems supporting agencies staff and mission.
โ€ขย ย  ย Lead, supervise, and mentor IT infrastructure staff by setting strategic priorities/workloads, guiding professional growth, and evaluate operational performance.
โ€ขย ย  ย Oversee enterprise infrastructure environments, including networks, servers, endpoint computing, identity and access management, collaboration platforms, and AV systems.
โ€ขย ย  ย Manage and oversee the operational lifecycle, strategic governance, and security of our digital workspace platforms, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, endpoint management solutions, and cross-functional collaboration tools, ensuring maximum system availability, proactive compliance, and seamless user adoption.
โ€ขย ย  ย Lead IT service management and incident response, including escalation management, root cause analysis, service improvements, and continuity of operations.
โ€ขย ย  ย Partner with the Sr. Director of IT on roadmaps, budgets, cyber security, and risk mitigation while leading infrastructure planning, lifecycle management, and modernization initiatives.
โ€ขย ย  ย Manage vendors, contracts, and managed service providers, ensuring accountability, service quality, cost control, and alignment with IT standards.
โ€ขย ย  ย Oversee IT asset management, including but not limited to, laptops, AV equipment and loaner equipment, and licensing, documentation, and compliance readiness.

โ€ขย ย  ย Bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science, information systems, or another IT-related field.
โ€ขย ย  ย Five (5) to Seven (7) years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, operations, or enterprise support Able to perform efficiently, professionally, and amicably under stress and deadlines.
โ€ขย ย  ย Three or more years of experience in a lead or supervisory position.
โ€ขย ย  ย Experience with vendor management, service providers, and infrastructure lifecycle planning.
โ€ขย ย  ย Demonstrated success collaborating across cross-functional business units and stakeholders to drive initiatives.


Working Conditions:
โ€ขย ย  ย Location: Atlanta, GA
โ€ขย ย  ย Hours: 37.5 hours weekly (Monday - Friday; flexible start/end time between 07:00 - 19:00) Requires work outside standard business hours and on weekends. Additionally, the person will be working with colleagues across multiple time zones, requiring flexibility. Work style: Extended periods of computer/virtual meeting work
