You analyze vulnerabilities within current information systems, perform an audit, and provide protection with backup systems. You manage contracts with third-party vendors and develop and assist in the training and documentation of disaster procedures for the company. What does a disaster recovery manager do?

A Disaster Recovery Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining plans to ensure that an organization can recover and continue operations after disruptive events such as natural disasters, cyber-attacks, or other emergencies. To thrive as a Disaster Recovery Manager, you need expertise in risk assessment, business continuity planning, and IT infrastructure, typically supported by a bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field. Familiarity with disaster recovery software, backup solutions, cloud platforms, and certifications like Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is often required.
