Job Summary:


This is a Technology Solutions Architect/Engineer/Manager role in the Disaster Recovery team. We need someone to independently lead the technology DR solutions and lead DR exercises that require collaboration with many technology teams and SMEs. Candidates should have leadership skills to bring several teams together and have the technology skills to develop strategies for developing and executing new technology programs.
Responsible for designing and scoping the future MUBK application DR automation. Would ensure that the current and future technology needs of the organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile and adaptable manner. Provide management leadership in the design, development and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products and services.

Responsibilities:

Whether balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders or making sound decisions using data, analysis, past experience, and a risk mindset, you will serve as a trusted advisor who routinely solves complex business problems and delivers against milestones. Generating various kinds of technical documentation used throughout development and implementation processes, for application systems. Leading and coordinating all activities related to disaster recovery processes, including mainframe recovery, continuity planning, recovery support, and distributed systems recovery.
High Level Responsibilities:
Responsible for defining and promoting the corporate Disaster Recovery strategy with focus on DR automation. Manage strategic DR efforts and responsible for the development, maintenance and continual enhancement of MUBK’s DR program and associated methodologies. Ensure adherence for all production applications in the DR process set at MUFG. Oversee a comprehensive testing program with continual review and development to ensure DR is functionally validated. Additionally, provide leadership in coordinating, assessing, improving and communicating recovery environment requirements to MUBK ’s senior management and technology groups.
As DR Manager, work closely with the Application, Storage, DBA, Networking, Tech and Security Groups as well the Business Continuity Team to coordinate annual tests and reviews that cover hundreds of systems.
The focus is on providing a comprehensive ability to recover systems and operations with minimal operating risk, positioning MUFG for future changes in geography, products and technology.
Determine how existing applications, legacy systems, databases, Web interfaces, and/or hardware logic, which may be currently operating on multiple platforms, work together to meet the new and emerging enterprise requirements
Work with operations staff to define an operational framework that defines, develops, and implements delivery systems, systems management, policies, and security frameworks to ensure delivery of knowledge and information to appropriate groups
Contribute to major projects, providing subject matter expertise and technical direction to less experienced technical staff and may be technical leader of advanced or complex projects
Have a good knowledge of Regulatory Risk and Compliance requirements, lead gap remediation and issue closures in alignment with the policy, standards and objectives
Lead creation and QC of DR program reports, metrics and KPIs
Work with other IT groups to ensure solid cross-functional decisions are made as a team
Contribute to major projects, providing subject matter expertise and technical direction to less experienced technical staff and may be technical leader of advanced or complex projects

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of technology infrastructure experience with emphasis in applications and systems, architectural and database design and development. 
  • Experience working with different technology operations teams (e.g. Storage, Network) and Information Security.
  • Demonstrated competency in all phases of the technology implementation lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, build, go-live, testing)
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience in the Banking and Financial Services industry preferred
  • Experience working within a highly matrixed organization in an in-office or remote setting required
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex application and data-related problems
  • Experienced in resolving issues relating to data security and integrity of controls
  • Good understanding of database technologies using structured query language (SQL),
  • PL/SQL and a grasp of SOAP/Web-services
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex application and system-related problems
  • Experienced in establishing contingency environments and testing recovery capabilities of large-scale technology systems, experience working in a cloud-based environment, knowledge of regulatory requirements in finance industry, familiarity with risk and control environment
  • Experience should be customized based on domain or specific systems required by the position]
  • Proficient in process and data modeling, architectural development methodologies, and IT planning methodologies
  • Deep knowledge across multiple technical environments and increased level of business acumen
  • Experience with agile, scrum, hybrid, or other delivery methodologies will be a plus

The typical base pay range for this role is between $139K - $168K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
