Crew Member II - Street Maintenance: Concrete Crew
Starting Salary: $36,171
Join our team as a Skilled Laborer and contribute to maintaining and improving our city's infrastructure. This role requires physical strength and stamina, and you'll work under direct supervision to perform essential tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate in equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance.
  • Operate various trucks and heavy equipment for task completion.
  • Maintain light equipment and machinery, including cleaning, oiling, sharpening blades, and replacing worn parts.
  • Assist and mentor employees in similar tasks.
  • Engage in snow removal or natural disaster cleanup; operate dump trucks or salt spreaders in inclement weather.
  • Interact courteously and professionally with residents, customers, and staff.
  • Follow all safety procedures, wear required safety gear, and set up traffic cones; use safety equipment like gas leak detectors when necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Street Maintenance Specifics:
  • Concrete Crew: Replace and finish concrete, repair sidewalks, lay brick walks, remove old concrete, and make curbs and gutters.
Minimum Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience or training in manual labor or equivalent education/experience.
Special Requirements:
  • Flagging Certificate issued by the state Department of Transportation.
  • Valid driver's license issued by the state.
