Job description

Discover the opportunity to join Baker College, honored as one of the 2024, 2025 & 2026 Best and Brightest Workplaces in West Michigan, Metro Detroit, and Nationally!
Join the team at Baker College as an Intern-Graduate Disability Services Test Proctor! Make a meaningful impact by helping create an accessible, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. In this vital role, you'll work alongside faculty, staff, and students to ensure testing accommodations are coordinated with accuracy, professionalism, and care-empowering every student to demonstrate their knowledge and achieve academic success.
The Intern-Graduate Disability Services Test Proctor helps ensure that students receive the testing accommodations approved by a Disability Specialist while supporting the daily operations of the campus testing center. This role schedules accommodated exams, clearly communicates testing procedures with students, faculty, and staff, and helps maintain a secure testing environment by following testing center policies and protecting academic integrity. The Graduate Intern also resolves basic technology issues, including software and hardware problems, to keep testing running smoothly. Working with departments across the college, this position helps connect students with resources that support their academic success. Additional responsibilities include maintaining confidential student records in compliance with FERPA, documenting testing and accommodation information, assisting with testing and assistive technology setup, and completing daily office tasks, reports, meetings, and special projects. The Graduate Intern is expected to continue learning through training and professional development to stay current on disability services and accessibility best practices.
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree and currently enrolled in a Baker College master's or doctoral program. Preference will be given to individuals with one to two years of experience in office administration, customer service, or student support within a higher education or comparable professional environment.
The successful candidate will embody and support the student-first philosophy, contributing to the overall success of Baker College while acting as a positive role model and brand ambassador both on and off campus.
At Baker College, we're on a mission to transform education with a Student-First philosophy. Our President's vision is ambitious and dedicated to creating an environment where students, faculty, and staff flourish.
