As a Support Worker within our Inclusive Employment environment, you will support people with disability to participate in meaningful employment, develop workplace skills, build confidence and achieve their goals in a supportive production environment.

What you will do
  • Support clients to safely complete their workplace duties and achieve their employment goals.
  • Provide individualised support that promotes independence, choice and control.
  • Assist clients to learn new tasks through demonstration, coaching and encouragement.
  • Support clients on the production line with tasks including assembly, packing, sorting and other workplace activities.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive workplace by following all health, safety and quality procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, colleagues and workplace partners.
  • Support accurate documentation, incident reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Encourage clients to develop workplace skills, confidence and independence.
What you will bring
  • Certificate III or above in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services (or currently working towards).
  • Experience supporting people with disability in an employment, community, day program or similar environment.
  • A genuine passion for supporting people to achieve their goals and participate in meaningful work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to follow workplace procedures.
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Willingness to complete a National Police Check through Afford's pre-employment process (paid by Afford).
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment functional assessment to ensure you can safely perform the physical requirements of the role (paid by Afford).
  • Passport, Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate to validate Australian Work Rights.
