Job description

Summary
Lidl US is searching for the next Senior Specialist to join our Benefits team! The Senior Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing accommodations and wellness programming. Accommodation responsibilities involve serving as the primary point of contact for employee requests, guiding the interactive process, evaluating medical documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders to determine and implement reasonable accommodations. For wellness program administration, this involves developing a strategic annual wellness calendar for HQ and regional locations, managing wellness budgets, and analyzing program metrics and feedback to ensure offerings continually meet the diverse health needs of our team members. The Senior Benefits Specialist reports to the Head of Benefits and Wellness.
What You'll Do
Essential Functions
  • Accommodations
    • Administer and manage all aspects of the accommodations process, including but not limited to the Interactive Process, FMLA, ADA and/or Workers' Compensation MMI cases
    • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers regarding the accommodations process by engaging in proactive case management and conducting interactive discussions
    • Coordinate and monitor employee accommodations, including tracking and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies
    • Collaborate with internal and regional stakeholders and business partners to ensure a smooth and effective accommodations interactive process
    • Manage and coordinate all documentation related to accommodations including certifications, medical documentation, and other related paperwork
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of accommodation-related data, including tracking key performance indicators
  • Wellness Program
    • Design, execute and evaluate annual wellness program to meet the needs of team members and business goals
    • Create communication strategies to promote and encourage participation
    • Develop and maintain relationships with relevant vendors to support wellness program activities
    • Plan and execute annual Benefits Fairs Analyze employee data and feedback to refine and improve wellness program

What You'll Need
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with excellent follow-through skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite or related software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Working knowledge and understanding of PPACA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA, IRS Section 125 and other applicable legislations
  • Experience using ADP WFN, SAP and time/attendance systems
  • Understanding of federal and state regulatory benefit compliance
  • Ability to remain confidential and handle sensitive data

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS)
  • Certified Corporate Wellness Specialist (CCWS)
  • ADA Coordinator Certification (ADACC)
  • Certified Leave Management Specialist (CLMS)
  • Certified Professional in Disability Management (CPDM)
  • Experience working in the retail industry and a multi-state or large company (5,000 +)
  • Experience working with commuter benefits

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field
  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above

Physical Job Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
