Job description

Driver Trainer

Location: RIMBEY, AB
Schedule: PartTime

Position Summary

First Student is seeking an experienced and safetyfocused PartTime Driver Trainer to support our RIMBEY, AB location.

In this role, you will provide classroom and behindthewheel training to new and existing school bus drivers, ensuring compliance with regulations, First Student safety standards, and local school board requirements.

This position is well suited for an experienced school bus driver who enjoys mentoring others, sharing knowledge, and making a positive impact in the community through parttime work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver classroom and behindthewheel training for new school bus drivers
  • Provide refresher or remedial training to existing drivers as required
  • Coach and mentor drivers with a focus on safe driving practices and regulatory compliance
  • Evaluate driver performance to ensure required skill levels and certifications are met
  • Maintain accurate training records and documentation in accordance with MTO, company, and contract requirements
  • Support overall safety initiatives at the location
  • Identify performance gaps and collaborate with local leadership to develop training plans
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required
  • Perform other duties related to safety and training as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
  • Valid drivers License
  • Minimum two (2) years of school bus or commercial driving experience
  • Clean driver abstract dated within the past 30 days
  • Strong communication, mentoring, and coaching skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
