The Colleges of Liberal Arts & Sciences (LAS) seeks a skilled and versatile Content Writer to develop engaging, accurate, and audience-focused content that highlights the college's academic programs, research, faculty expertise, and student experience. This role plays a key part in shaping the college's voice across digital and print platforms. The Colleges of Liberal Arts & Sciences comprises of the Colleges of Humanities, Science, and Social and Behavioral Science. This position will join the LAS Marketing & Communications team.
Responsibilities
  • Write, edit and proofread a wide range of content including long-form articles, feature stories, newsletters, blog posts, and magazine articles.
  • Translate complex academic and research topics into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Collaborate with staff, faculty, and students to identify and develop story ideas.
  • Maintain consistency in tone, style and brand messaging across all communications.
  • Assist in content planning and editorial calendar management.
  • Conduct interviews and gather information to support storytelling initiatives.
  • Stay current on higher education trends and audience engagement strategies.





Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, Communication or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in professional writing or content creation (higher education experience preferred).
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
