Job description

Description

Responsible for shaping molds or mold sections using such machines as automatic molding machine, air-set sand mixer, rota-lift and jolt-squeeze molding machines. 



Requirements

  • Select and assemble appropriate flask equipment and patterns 
  • Position patterns in flasks, fill flasks with sand, ramming the sand around the pattern with tools, hands and use of molding machines
  • Prepare molds for drawing of patterns and repair damage to mold impressions in sand as necessary
  • Select and set in position appropriate cores and/or chills; vents molds as necessary
  • Assemble cope and drag sections of mold and place mold on pouring conveyor
  • Report production quantities and times for each work order
  • Report worn pattern equipment to supervisors
  • Perform any and all other job-related tasks as assigned 

Monday-Thursday 05:00am-4:30pm, with occasional Fridays


PPE Required (company provided)

Steel-toe boots

Physical demands: standing for extended periods of time and bending, pulling, lifting of patterns and sand cores
