The Active Directory Administrator will be a core member of the Directory Services team responsible for executing a large?scale Active Directory consolidation initiative. This role supports both on?premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, ensuring secure, reliable identity services throughout user, computer, and application migrations. The administrator will work hands?on with Quest Migration Manager for Active Directory (MPAD) to migrate users, computers, groups, and related objects while maintaining business continuity. The role requires strong operational AD knowledge, practical Entra ID experience, and the ability to leverage automation and scripting to streamline repeatable migration tasks. The position also supports consolidation activities on workstations, servers, and related infrastructure.

Active Directory & Entra ID Operations


Administer and support on?premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID in a hybrid identity environment.


Maintain and troubleshoot core AD components including domains, OUs, trusts, DNS, Group Policy, and security principals.


Support Entra ID integration scenarios including directory synchronization, authentication flows, and identity lifecycle alignment.


Ensure identity services remain stable and secure during consolidation and migration activities.


Directory Consolidation & Migration Execution


Execute user, computer, group, and object migrations using Quest Migration Manager for Active Directory (MPAD) in support of the consolidation program.


Perform pre?migration assessments, remediation, and validation of source and target directory objects.


Coordinate and execute cutover activities while minimizing impact to end users and business operations.


Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues related to authentication, access, group membership, or object alignment.


Validate post?migration success and ensure objects are fully functional in the target domain and Entra ID.


Device & Infrastructure Support


Support domain consolidation activities for Windows workstations and servers, including domain joins, re?joins, and post?migration remediation.


Assist with Group Policy alignment, device authentication issues, and system access during and after migration events.


Collaborate with endpoint, server, and application teams to resolve cross?domain and post?migration dependencies.


Automation & Tooling


Develop and maintain basic to intermediate automation using tools such as PowerShell to support migration, validation, and cleanup tasks.


Automate repeatable operational steps to reduce manual effort and improve consistency during large?scale migrations.


Leverage scripts and tools to assist with reporting, validation, and exception handling.


Collaboration, Documentation & Governance


Work closely with identity, security, endpoint, application, and service desk teams throughout the consolidation lifecycle.


Follow established migration procedures, standards, and security controls.


Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and operational knowledge related to directory services and consolidation activities.


Participate in incident resolution, change activities, and continuous improvement efforts related to directory operations.
