Labcorp is seeking an Area Director Business Development (ADBD) to join our Houston, TX team.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead subdivisional commercial strategy formulation with alignment with the divisional strategy for growth and industry leadership
  • Promote team-orientated culture and foster alignment among all selling environments (clinical, hospital and health system, specialty, VBC, etc.)
  • Provide direction and leadership support for executing regional business plans by coaching sales managers towards achieving their growth and retention objectives
  • Provide thought leadership around industry trends and business intelligence to guide day to day commercial decision making
  • Expand on current opportunities by furthering active relationships and striking strategic partnerships
  • Drive a data-driven culture using analytics, dashboards, and KPIs to uncover sales trends and insights
  • Build a culture of accountability, high performance, and inclusiveness among the sales teams through intentional leadership
  • Hire and develop sales leaders (and reps) aligning management development competencies and sales excellence standards
  • Work closely with operations leadership to set up and maintain new clients/health systems to ensure optimal customer satisfaction along with sustainability and efficiency for Labcorp
  • Understand budgets and financial data (including P&Ls) to drive decision-making and growth

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5 or more years of progressive experience in healthcare sales or business development
  • 5 or more years' experience of influencing sales teams to include people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of sales management experience with direct team oversight.
  • 5 or more years people management experience (including skip level reports)

Additional Job Standards:

  • Healthcare people management experience
  • Clinical diagnostics, life sciences or healthcare sales experience
  • Knowledge of Health Systems
  • Knowledge of Managed Care, Value Based Care and FQHCs
  • Experience managing a P&L
  • Ability to communicate and present to large complex customers
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve complex problems
  • Strong collaboration skills to partner within the matrix to meet customer needs
  • Extensive experience in presenting to C-suite of large institutional customers
  • Models all 4 Leadership ID Principles: Inspire, Innovate, Develop, Deliver
  • Able to communicate and lead by example and coach other leaders using Labcorp leadership best practices
  • Able to build strong high functioning and effective teams
  • Cultivate a strong culture to foster engagement and retention
