Job Description Summary
Leads the strategic planning and execution of health occupations programming within Economic and Workforce Development and Continuing Education. Develops long-term goals and objectives for health occupations courses, ensuring alignment with college and industry standards. Oversees accreditation and compliance with state, regional and national boards, ensuring that all programs meet and exceed regulatory compliance. Fosters and maintains relationships with clinical agencies, community partners, and organizations to expand program offerings. Drives innovation and new program development in response to industry needs. Supervises Associated Director and senior staff/FT faculty. Prepares and manages the department's budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial sustainability of programs. Reports directly to the VP of Economic and Workforce Development and serves as a key member of the division's leadership team.
Duties
1. Leads the strategic development initiatives that enhance program effectiveness, foster innovation, and ensure alignment with industry standards and workforce needs.
2. Oversees financial operations and budget management to ensure the department's fiscal health and sustainability.
3. Ensures that all programs meet accreditation and regulatory standards.
4. Strategically identifies partnership opportunities that advance departmental goals, facilitate resource sharing, and promotes workforce development initiatives.
5. Actively participates in division meetings and initiatives, contributing expertise and insights to enhance overall departmental effectiveness.
6. Contributes to the College Vision, Mission, Values, and RISE statement.
7. Supports workforce diversity in all its aspects.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements (Applicant must meet all of the minimum requirements)
1. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
2. Must have five years of full-time or equivalent work experience as a registered nurse.
3. Must have two years of full-time or equivalent instructional experience in higher education.
4. Must have two years of full-time or equivalent administrative work experience.
5. Must have supervisory experience.
6. Must have an unrestricted RN License to practice in NC.
7. Must have CPR-AHS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in Nursing.
2. Experience as supervisor in community college system.
3. Experience with Colleague and other college applications4. Proficiency in a foreign language such as Spanish, an East Slavic language, and/or American Sign Language.
