Job description

Job Details:Job Description:

About the Job:
Intel's Brand and Creative team, within the Global Marketing and Communications Group, is seeking a Design leader to own and operationalize the company's foundational visual language and product branding system. This role bridges brand strategy, product design, and creative execution, using AI as a core capability to scale output, accelerate iteration, and elevate consistency across the entire portfolio.

Job Description:
The Design Director will architect, govern, and scale the foundational visual identity and design systems that unify how Intel shows up across every touchpoint. This leader represents a new breed of creative: equal parts systems thinker, hands-on design practitioner, and AI-native operator who treats generative AI as a creative medium for accelerating iteration, increasing consistency, and expanding what brand systems can do. They will connect design tooling, AI-assisted workflows, and governance so the visual system can be adapted and deployed more purposefully across the portfolio.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Own the development, governance, and evolution of the company's foundational visual language, including typography, color, iconography, motion, layout, and design systems

  • Architect comprehensive, scalable brand and product design systems, embedding AI-assisted creation, intelligent adaptation, automation, and governance into how those systems are built, maintained, and adopted

  • Define and operationalize foundational product branding requirements across the full portfolio, spanning hardware, software, and solutions offerings

  • Design and implement AI-native workflows for identity, template, and asset generation, including render generation, design-to-code automation, and AI-powered content adaptation

  • Evaluate, adopt, and govern AI tools that enhance how design teams create, iterate, and deliver

  • Oversee brand centers, design language libraries, and experience guides as living, AI-enabled platforms that teams can query, apply, and extend independently

  • Build reusable AI-driven templates, playbooks, and automations so teams across the company can scale foundational brand work without rebuilding systems from scratch

  • Partner with executive leadership, product and partner marketing, and brand strategy to shape brand architecture decisions

A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A forward-looking, AI-native perspective on design practice, with the ability to separate real capability from hype and apply AI where it creates genuine leverage

  • Deep systems thinking, with the ability to identify patterns, consolidation opportunities, and architect scalable, AI-ready visual languages

  • Hands-on fluency with generative AI and design tools as part of a thoughtful, intentional creative workflow

  • A blend of creative vision and operational rigor, with reverence for existing brand equity balanced with the courage to evolve it through new technology

  • Proven experience translating business and product strategy into actionable design strategy with measurable outcomes

  • Exceptional storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align executive stakeholders

  • Comfort operating at the intersection of brand, product, and technology within a complex, global organization

  • Ability to lead and develop distributed, cross-functional design teams, training them to operate confidently within the design language

Qualifications:

This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Qualifications:
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in design, visual communication, fine arts or related discipline

  • 9+ years of experience in brand design, product design, identity systems, or creative leadership, including experience within a global or enterprise-scale organization

  • Demonstrated track record architecting and scaling global enterprise design systems that span both product and brand touchpoints

  • Hands-on experience using generative AI and automation tools in a production design workflow, such as Figma AI, Adobe Firefly, or custom GPT workflows

  • Candidates should be prepared to share a portfolio link at time of interview demonstrating systems thinking, brand strategy, AI-augmented workflows, and multi-channel design execution, with examples of how design systems scaled across teams, products, or markets

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in design, or a related field

  • 5+ years managing large, distributed creative or design teams with proven talent development, including training teams on workflows and design languages

  • Experience building or scaling an AI-native creative production system, including prompt/reference standards, asset management, and QA processes

  • Experience with design systems tools (e.g., Figma component libraries, variants, APIs) integrated with assisted automation

  • Experience navigating brand architecture challenges, including product portfolio expansion or Mergers and Acquisitions -related brand integration

  • Familiarity with agentic AI, retrieval-based systems, or machine-readable design frameworks that connect brand expression across platforms and channels
