Job description

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Academic Division Chair – Science, Technology & Human Performance, the Director leads Shaw’s cybersecurity strategy and programs. The Director drives the creation of an online master’s degree, industry-partnered boot camps, employer relationships, grant funding, and NSA CAE-CD accreditation. The position manages virtual labs and aligns academic offerings with market and workforce needs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead design and launch of an online cybersecurity master’s degree.
  • Develop and manage employer-partnered boot camps.
  • Secure NSA CAE-CD designation within three years.
  • Build and sustain RTP employer partnerships and advisory board.
  • Lead grant writing and revenue generation from programs and partnerships.
  • Oversee virtual cybersecurity labs and simulations.
  • Coordinate SACSCOC substantive change submissions for new programs.
  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty and instructors supporting programs.
  • Manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships supporting delivery.
  • Track outcomes: enrollment, completion, placement, and revenue metrics.
  • Represent Shaw with industry, agencies, and accreditation bodies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Cybersecurity faculty and adjunct instructors
  • Lab manager(s) and instructional technologists
  • Program coordinators and student workers

Minimum Job Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • Master’s in Cybersecurity or related field required
  • Seven or more years in cybersecurity leadership, including grants and partnerships
  • Experience creating online programs or workforce boot camps
  • Experience with accreditation or NSA CAE-CD processes preferred
  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline preferred

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations

  • CISSP required
  • Additional certifications preferred: CISM, GIAC GCIH or GCIA
