Working Title

Working Title Director of Player Personnel, Women's Basketball

The Director of Player Personnel works in coordination with the Director of Basketball Operations and the Head Coach to oversee and manage the internal needs and services of student-athletes.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Three years of experience in collegiate athletics, student athlete development.
  • Knowledge of NCAA , conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Understanding of student-athlete development principles, including leadership, personal growth, mental wellness, career readiness, and life skills programming.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, preferably at the NCAA Division I level.
  • Familiarity with academic support services, campus resources, and student success initiatives.
  • Understanding of recruiting and retention strategies within a collegiate athletics environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively engage student‑athletes, coaches, administrators, alumni, and community partners.

Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The UNCW Department of Athletics sponsors 19 varsity sports and competes in the NCAA Division I as a member of the Coastal Athletic Association. UNCW Athletics primary purpose is to produce a competitive and successful sports program while abiding by NCAA , CAA and institutional rules and regulations. UNCW Athletics has a strong commitment to gender equity and diversity, while promoting a greater sense of integrity, leadership, sportsmanship and ethical behavior to the overall campus dynamic.
