A career as an Associate within the Risk Management team at National Bank means playing a key role in managing the investment risks of insurance companies. You will support the team by optimizing existing risk monitoring processes and helping to develop risk management frameworks.

Your Role
  • Analyze insurance companies’ investment policies and monitor compliance with those policies.
  • Provide risk analyses to support investment and asset allocation decisions, including Value at Risk (VaR) and stress testing.
  • Analyze, reconcile, and explain investment performance and portfolio movements.
  • Review investment positions and strategies within insurance investment mandates, ensuring alignment with the organization’s risk appetite and consideration of actuarial liabilities.
  • Prepare and enhance risk presentations for insurance company investment committees.
  • Conduct literature reviews on current investment and actuarial topics, as well as industry best practices.
  • Support stakeholders across the organization, including front-office teams, accountants, actuaries, auditors, legal counsel, and IT.

Requirements
  • University degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or a related field, with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of finance and investments.
  • Knowledge of SQL and Python.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Amazon QuickSight.
  • Knowledge of Murex.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
