SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the daily human resources operations, including employment law, recruitment, onboarding, employee development, and benefits administration.  This role functions as a liaison with employees and leadership, fostering a positive culture while ensuring HR systems and records are accurate and compliant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Partner with financial services to support employee benefits enrollment and administration
  • Collaborate with employees on HR issues, providing support and information
  • Provide administrative support for claims management, including workers' compensation, protected leave, and other employment matters
  • Support the performance management process, including facilitating participant training and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR files, and other confidential personnel documentation
  • Provide support for HR technology platforms utilized by Foundation staff, including onboarding, recruitment, and LF Forms processes
  • Collaborate with the senior director of operations on compensation
  • Assist in drafting and distributing HR communications 
  • Support onboarding activities
  • Serve as backup support for payroll processing, as needed
  • Assist with publishing HR policies, compliance documentation, and related communications
  • Create and manage job postings within the applicant tracking system and provide recruitment process training for hiring managers and recruitment teams
  • Provide input to the senior director of operations regarding departmental risk management
  • Partner with CSS2 on operational initiatives
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance to the administrative Services team
  • Serve as tertiary-level backup to the CSS1 to ensure continuity of operations

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Requirements

COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong interpersonal communication and the ability to build and maintain trusted teams
  • Bachelor's degree preferred 
  • HR certification preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience preferred
  • In-depth understanding of employment laws and safety policies to mitigate risk
  • Professionalism, curiosity, and discretion when managing confidential information
  • Technological proficiency, especially in HRIS systems
  • Talent management experience
  • Ethical leadership experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This job is conducted in an office work environment, sitting much of the time
  • This position's duties require use of a computer
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally
  • Some travel may be required
