Manager - Cyber Risk & Analysis

As a Technology Risk Manager, you will drive strategy and execute on high priority projects for the company in the Card Technology Risk area. The successful candidate will be an experienced risk management professional who understands technology functions and organizations, with strong analytical, planning, strategic thinking, organizational and communication skills. You will work with smart and passionate people to deliver results that have a direct impact on the company's bottom line. You will take on important and exciting responsibility from day one, working with key stakeholders across the company. You will be challenged to excel and lead alongside the brightest talent in the industry and be rewarded for your achievements.

General Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Risk Execution Lead for domains supporting Card Technology Audit engagements and respective software engineering teams to propel technology risk agenda and guide the Leadership Team and project stakeholders to make informed decisions.

  • Build successful relationships across Card Tech, Business Risk Offices and Enterprise Risk teams to understand & drive technology risk across critical business processes in support of Card Technology Audit, Card Tech Issue Management & Horizontal Reporting functions.

  • Streamline project tracking and documentation to proactively manage risks and guarantee timely completion.

  • Utilize strong problem-solving and influencing abilities to ensure project plans achieve intended outcomes.

  • Act as a strategic thought partner, leveraging strong influencing skills to collaborate cross-functionally and build key stakeholder relationships, ensuring project plans and program efforts successfully deliver on intended outcomes and commitments.

  • Employ outstanding communication and problem-solving skills to manage, inform, and influence results with stakeholders at all organizational levels.

  • Possess a demonstrated ability to quickly establish structure and effectively manage complex work in dynamic environments, with a proven track record of excellent project management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

  • At least 5 years of program or project management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of audit experience in a technology environment

  • 3+ years of Technology Risk Management Execution Experience (such as Tech & Cyber Controls Management, Issues Management, Technology Reporting, or Audit or Audit Examinations)

  • 2+ years experience with Risk Management frameworks, ITGC, or Cloud Governance

  • 7+ years of Project Management experience

  • Experience in Cloud environments such as AWS.

  • AWS CP, AWS SA, CISA, CISM, CISSP or other related tech and / or audit certification is a plus.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong problem solving and influencing skills

  • Work experience achieving results with complex projects

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $164,800 - $188,100 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis


Richmond, VA: $149,800 - $171,000 for Manager, Cyber Risk & Analysis










Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
