Job description

About Technosylva

Technosylva is a global leader in wildfire and extreme weather risk mitigation software. The Company’s market-leading solutions, enhanced by AI and machine learning capabilities, provide real-time and predictive insights to support electric utility, insurance, and government agency customers.

Technosylva has provided critical solutions for the past 26 years. In 2022 the organization entered a period of significant growth and transformation with investment from TA Associates, a leading growth PE firm, scaling to about 225 employees and offering its product in over 10 countries. In 2024 General Atlantic, a leading global growth investor, announced a strategic growth investment in Technosylva to support the company in its mission.

Role Overview

As Director, Product Management - Incident Management, you will lead the strategy and execution for Technosylva's incident management products—fiResponse and Tactical Analyst that serve fire agencies, incident management teams, and emergency operations centers. Your mission is to bring our powerful weather and fire behavior analytics directly to the responders who need them most, enabling faster situational awareness and better tactical decisions in the field.

This role requires a strategic product leader with deep understanding of incident management operations—someone who has worked directly with incident command systems, emergency dispatch, or tactical firefighting and understands how responders coordinate resources and make critical decisions under pressure.

You will manage a team of 1-2 Product Managers and work closely with our Solutions Consultant (who brings deep domain expertise from the customer side) to ensure our products deliver real value to the people on the front lines. The people at Technosylva are passionate, expert, and welcoming. You'll find this to be an environment where you can grow, while working to address some of the most urgent and challenging problems we face.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for fiResponse, Tactical Analyst, and related incident management capabilities.

  • Lead the integration of Technosylva's weather and fire behavior analytics into incident management workflows, making complex data actionable for field commanders and dispatch centers.

  • Manage and mentor a team of 1-2 Product Managers, fostering their growth while maintaining high standards for product execution.

  • Partner with engineering, science, and weather teams to translate cutting-edge fire modeling and weather forecasting into intuitive, real-time tools for responders.

  • Work directly with fire agencies and incident management teams to understand operational needs and validate product direction.

  • Collaborate closely with our Solutions Consultant to ensure product development is grounded in real customer workflows and success metrics.

  • Drive adoption and engagement metrics, ensuring our products become essential tools for incident management operations.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards and interoperability requirements (CAD integration protocols, NIMS/ICS frameworks).

Required Skills

  • 10+ years of product management experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing product teams.

  • Direct experience working in or with incident management operations—fire agencies, emergency management, incident command, or emergency dispatch environments.

  • Strong understanding of Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems and how they integrate with tactical and situational awareness tools.

  • Proven track record building products for mission-critical, time-sensitive operational environments where user experience and reliability are paramount.

  • Deep experience translating complex data (weather, geospatial, predictive models) into intuitive interfaces for non-technical users under pressure.

  • Strong technical acumen with ability to evaluate architectural decisions, data pipelines, and real-time system requirements.

  • Experience managing products through significant growth phases with ability to balance new feature development against platform stability.

  • Outstanding communication skills with ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executive audiences and front-line responders alike.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with wildfire, weather, or natural hazard modeling and how these are used in tactical decision-making.

  • Knowledge of NIMS/ICS frameworks and how technology supports incident command operations.

  • Familiarity with CAD vendors and integration standards (Hexagon, Tyler/New World, Motorola/Spillman, Central Square).

  • Understanding of fire behavior modeling, weather forecasting, and how these inform tactical operations.

  • Experience with geospatial technologies and mobile/field applications.

  • Background in emergency management, fire science, or related technical fields.

  • Experience working with government agencies and understanding procurement cycles.

  • Prior experience in high-growth PE-backed or venture-backed software companies.
