Job description

The INVENTORY CONTROL CLERK will be responsible for maintaining inventory records on all materials, hardware, and supplies. The clerk places orders for high-demand and out of stock items, pulls stock materials needed for specified projects and upkeeps and stock all items in the assigned locations.

The hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, with occasional Saturday and overtime required, based on business need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Maintain and update inventory and stocked goods. Reconcile actual stock count to computer-generated reports

  • Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory.

  • Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.

  • Forecast stock needs and notify purchasing when items are running low

  • Maintain all stock material organized and accurately tagging the inventory room and warehouse.

  • Add items to stock once received and document in ERP system.

  • Utilize traveler to pull material requirements from stock, label and set aside. Coordinate with material handler for assistance. Close out the picked material in ERP system once all items have been pulled.

  • Document in ERP system when additional material is needed for a project.

  • Perform quality and quantity checks on store inventory. Communicate if any of the product does not meet the company’s standards and needs to be discarded.

  • Properly store and track tools using a daily check in/out process.

  • Developing and/or improving inventory management.

  • Create hardware bags for projects when needed.

  • Attend kick off meetings to ensure all needed materials have been purchased and accounted for.

  • Assist receiving clerk and other departments when needed.

  • Preform quarterly inventory counts on all stock items. Coordinate with Director of Operations to perform the counting.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in retail, wholesale, warehousing, or logistics required

  • Experience in ERP systems, JobBOSS is a plus

  • Intermediate level of Microsoft Word and Excel experience required

  • Bilingual in Spanish required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of supplied, equipment, and/or services and inventory control

  • Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data

  • Able to use a computer and other office technology

  • Must be able to read inventory lists

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems

  • Ability to receive, stock and/or deliver goods

  • Excellent math and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication, including written, verbal and interpersonal skills

  • Forklift experience and certification beneficial

  • Computer data entry throughout the day

  • Prolonged period standing

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, and reach high and low

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment for this position is in a warehouse.
