A Day in the LifeThe Senior Indirect Sourcing Specialist support end-to-end sourcing processes across the LATAM region for Supply Chain categories, including transportation, warehousing, and trade compliance, while contributing to global or special initiatives as needed. As part of a global Indirect Sourcing team, it will report into a new LATAM Sr. Manager position that reports into the Director, Strategic Sourcing, based in the US. The successful candidate will work in strong partnership with Medtronic's Supply Chain Deliver stakeholders and will directly contribute to our company mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life. The candidate can be working in a flex work model in Colombia, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Mexico.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Create value across ~$150M in annual indirect spend in the region
  • Work independently and as part of a global and regional team
  • Build strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Support development of strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantage
  • Best-in-class analytical skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI, to identify, organize, and measure suppliers, spend, and value creation opportunities
  • Achieve (year-on-year) value improvements for all aspects of quality, service, innovation, cost
  • Perform and support RF(x) events to drive competitive pressure and ensure maximum value is realized
  • Lead and support contract negotiations with suppliers and Legal
  • Provide stakeholders with a balanced view of contract risk and liabilities
  • Contribute to multi-year (at least 2 years) pipeline to support planning processes
  • Assist in Supplier Stratification activities (e.g., Supplier Relationship Management)
  • Gather Market Intelligence and trends for relevant categories and associated sub-categories
  • Gather internal and external benchmarks in a systematic manner to support sourcing efforts
  • Follow governance processes and Purchasing Controls systems to ensure compliance
  • Educate and train stakeholders on key indirect supply management initiatives and policies

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five years of relevant experience in Logistics Sourcing or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Sourcing
  • Prior experience in Supply Chain & Logistics or Logistics Sourcing
  • Fluency in Spanish and English
  • Strong negotiating skills and training
  • Knowledge using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT)
  • Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of working in FDA regulated industries; Master's degree (e.g., MBA); Understanding of underlying economics of Supply Chain and Proficient in MS Excel and PowerBI; Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP and TMS is advantageous
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
