Overview

Artex is a global leader in the alternative risk space and the 3rd largest Insurance Manager in the world, with 1,000 employees across the globe and 5000 clients. The Senior Vice President (SVP), Benefits will lead the development and execution of the Benefits group captive strategy, driving growth, operational excellence, and client satisfaction across the benefits portfolio. This role will focus on strategic initiatives, including client servicing, operational improvements, technology investments, and cross-functional collaboration. The SVP will work closely with the Artex North America sales team to define and implement a clear growth strategy, prioritize initiatives, and align efforts across teams.

The SVP will identify cross-selling opportunities within the Artex NA P&C portfolio and the broader Gallagher organization, with a focus on relationship management within Gallagher Benefit Services (GBS). This leader will actively engage with brokers, carriers, vendors, and potential captive owners to expand market presence and capitalize on competitive opportunities. Additionally, the SVP will explore merger and acquisition opportunities to maximize revenue streams and enhance the benefits value proposition.


How you'll make an impact

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the Benefits group captive strategy to drive growth and operational excellence.
  • Identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities within Artex NA and Gallagher Benefit Services.
  • Lead the development and growth of new benefits and ancillary products.
  • Pursue merger and acquisition opportunities to expand the benefits portfolio.

Client Engagement

  • Serve as the executive lead on captive accounts, ensuring exceptional client service and retention.
  • Provide strategic guidance to client service teams to meet client needs and exceed expectations.
  • Enhance client relationships through stewardship efforts and value-driven solutions.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the Benefits P&L, ensuring financial performance and margin improvement.
  • Manage relationships with stop-loss carriers, consultants, and vendor partners.
  • Lead captive renewal strategies, including negotiation and retention efforts.
  • Coordinate benefits population health risk management initiatives.

Team Leadership:

  • Build, mentor, and retain top talent within the Benefits team.

About You

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of Health & Benefits or related experience
  • Significant Medical Stop Loss, Self-Funding, or Benefits Consulting industry experience and insurance designations are required
  • Technical stop loss and captive sales experience
  • Proven experience in benefits strategy, captive management, or related fields.
  • Strong track record of driving revenue growth and operational improvements.
  • Expertise in client relationship management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulations
  • Understanding of plan design and terminology
  • Thorough knowledge of MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to travel to meet the needs of the business, estimated 25%

Preferred:

  • Medical Stop Loss Captive experience desirable.
