Position Summary

Join CentraCare as the Director of Inpatient Cardiology for one of Minnesota's premier cardiovascular programs! This role provides strategic and operational leadership for the Telemetry Unit, Cardiovascular Thoracic Unit, and Cardiac Care Unit while partnering with physicians, nursing leaders, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional patient care, drive quality outcomes, and support the continued growth of CentraCare's nationally recognized Heart & Vascular program.
As Director, you will cultivate a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement while leading highly engaged teams that provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered care. You'll have the opportunity to influence clinical excellence, employee engagement, operational performance, and the future of cardiovascular services at a nationally recognized heart program.
What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for inpatient cardiovascular nursing units.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop leaders and staff while fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Champion patient- and family-centered care while ensuring exceptional quality, safety, and patient experience.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary leaders to improve care delivery and operational performance.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and organizational change that enhance patient outcomes and employee satisfaction.
  • Monitor quality, financial, operational, and workforce metrics while developing action plans to achieve departmental goals.
  • Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and leadership development across the department.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and professional practice standards.
  • Serve as an advocate for continuous improvement and strategic initiatives across Heart & Vascular Services.


Schedule

  • Full time | 80 hours every two weeks
  • Monday-Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • On-site | St. Cloud Hospital | St. Cloud MN


Pay and Benefits

  • Starting pay begins at $139,734.40 per year; exact wage determined by years of related experience
  • Salary range: $139,734.40 - $213,720.00 per year
    • Salary and salary range are based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota required.
  • Minimum two years of healthcare leadership or management experience required.
  • Minimum two years of cardiovascular or heart and vascular clinical experience required.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams through organizational change while improving quality, employee engagement, patient experience, or operational performance.
  • Progressive leadership experience overseeing multiple departments or complex clinical operations preferred.
  • Experience in a Magnet-designated, academic, or highly complex acute care organization preferred.
