At the heart of our mission is a simple belief: technology should feel like magic. We are seeking a Director of UX & Design to be the guardian of that magic. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level vision and tactile everyday moments that make our customers' lives better. You will lead, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary team, serving as the bridge-builder across the organization to ensure every pixel we ship serves a human purpose. If you are a bold leader who can balance the rigor of Design Engineering with the heart of user-centered design, we’ve built a seat at the table just for you.

What You’ll Do
  • Design Strategy & Vision: Define and evangelize an aspirational design vision that aligns with our long-term company goals and sets a new standard for a vast portfolio of products.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of Product Designers and User Researchers, fostering a culture of radical accountability and creative excellence.
  • Design Systems & Engineering: Direct the evolution of our global design system, ensuring seamless handoffs between Design and Engineering through advanced Design Engineering practices and shared component libraries.
  • User-Centered Discovery: Lead deep-dive user research and customer empathy initiatives to uncover market whitespace and validate complex solutions before they hit the roadmap.
  • Experimental Rigor: Spearhead a robust experimentation culture, utilizing A/B testing and user research to relentlessly optimize user journeys and business outcomes.
  • AI Innovation: Integrate cutting-edge AI tools for design into the team’s workflow to accelerate prototyping, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance creative output.
  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Work in lockstep with Product Management and Engineering leadership to balance aesthetic excellence with technical feasibility and business ROI.
  • Portfolio Experience Leadership: Own experience coherence across a diverse multi‑product portfolio, driving convergence, simplification, and consistent interaction patterns while respecting product‑specific workflows.
What Success Looks Like
  • UX Leadership: A frictionless, category-leading user experience that establishes Accruent as the "must-have" solution in the market.
  • Craft Excellence: Set and uphold a high bar for interaction design, information architecture, and product storytelling through regular critique, design reviews, and quality frameworks.
  • Operational Velocity: A highly efficient design-to-development pipeline supported by a mature design system and AI-augmented workflows.
  • Evidence-Based Design: A measurable increase in product adoption and engagement driven by a rigorous "test-and-learn" philosophy.
  • Organizational Trust: A unified engine where Design is viewed as a strategic partner to Engineering and Go To Market teams.
What You Bring
  • Proven Leadership: 10+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role scaling B2B SaaS design teams.
  • Strategic Mindset: A portfolio of successful product outcomes where you led the journey from abstract vision to a high-impact, measurable market win.
  • Technical Sophistication: Deep expertise in Design Engineering, user-centered design (UCD), and managing complex design systems at scale.
  • Research & Analytics Fluency: Proficiency in leveraging qualitative research and quantitative data (A/B testing, usage metrics) to drive high conviction design decisions.
  • AI Literacy: Demonstrated experience using or implementing AI tools to optimize design processes and enhance the end-user experience.
  • Stakeholder Mastery: The ability to navigate organizational complexity and communicate the business value of design to C-suite stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Design, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Product-Led Growth (PLG) environments.
  • Familiarity with modern analytics and experimentation platforms (e.g., Amplitude, Mixpanel, Pendo).
  • Background in enterprise SaaS or complex, workflow-based data products.
  • Experience scaling global design teams across multiple time zones and product lines.
