Job Summary:
InterSources Inc is seeking a Manager, Software Development Engineering to lead and direct development, implementation, integration, and support for applications or systems. The role involves project planning, execution, and collaboration with departments to determine technology needs and design solutions.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Creates, reviews and implements multi-year strategies for individual teams, systems, or projects
โ€ข Provides direction to team leads or other direct and indirect personnel within the organization
โ€ข Responsible for team performance, process compliance and directs work at an objective / goal level across one or more teams through formal authority
โ€ข High focus on employee talent management and performance management - demonstrates increased value from all associates and/or Team Leads within respective area
โ€ข Closely manages and monitors project and resource costs within respective area
โ€ข 50% or less time is focused within directly managed teams and peer technical groups
โ€ข Implements and monitors critical health metrics for all aspects of their operational and continuous improvement processing
โ€ข Develops new ideas to optimize processes and improve operations; resulting in increased ROI
โ€ข Primary interaction point is with a company presidents, VP, or PM at an operating unit
โ€ข Travel for this position is approximately 10-30%
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข At least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area; multiple years of proven leadership experience
โ€ข Experience enables individual to be portable across numerous roles within BTS at a similar leadership level
โ€ข Demonstrated operational experience with a DEV OPS or Operational framework E.G. Agile, ITSM, ITIL, adoption frameworks, ALM and Software Development practices
โ€ข Must possess the ability to operate and guide teams through the various frameworks and processing; measuring personnel performance throughout
โ€ข Must have demonstrated the capability of meeting the key accountabilities, or have the ability to learn/perform them
โ€ข Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact seamlessly with both technical and business stakeholders at all levels of the corporation
โ€ข Software Development Life Cycle experience
โ€ข 5-8+ years of front-end development experience required
โ€ข Demonstrated experience with ReactJS is required
โ€ข At least 5 years of supervisory and/or team lead experience
โ€ข Proven experience working within agile and/or scaled agile frameworks (SAFe)
โ€ข Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience and/or alternative qualifications will be considered.
Preferred:
โ€ข Understanding of Agile SDLC is preferred
โ€ข 3+ years of P&C insurance industry knowledge is preferred, but not required
โ€ข Additional proficiency with NodeJS and/or Next.js is preferred; AngularJS will be considered
