JOB TITLE: Principal Mechanical Design Engineer
LOCATION: Phoenix, AZ
PAY RATE: $83.00-95.00/hour

  • Applies 1D Beam based FEA technique for rotor dynamics and shafting structural analyses.

  • Uses FEA software including ANSYS APDL and ANSYS Workbench for mechanical design engineering.

  • Conducts mechanical design engineering within aerospace industries focusing on complex component and system design.

  • Leads design reviews, conducts risk assessments, and mentors engineering teams effectively.

  • Manages mechanical design projects in aerospace environments.

  • Applies knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards including AS9100 and MIL-STD.

  • Performs design for manufacturability and tolerance analysis for mechanical systems.

  • Utilizes mechanical testing methodologies for product validation.

  • Applies systems engineering principles for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

  • Extensive Rotor Dynamics experience in mechanical design engineering within aerospace or related industries.

  • Proficiency in FEA software such as ANSYS APDL or ANSYS Workbench.

  • Proficiency in 1D Beam based FEA technique for rotor dynamics analysis.

  • Experience conducting rotor dynamics analysis to predict critical speed, create whirl speed maps or Campbell diagrams, and predict displacement, force, and moment due to imbalance.

  • Proven leadership experience in managing mechanical design projects in aerospace environments.

  • Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and design standards such as AS9100 and MIL-STD.

  • Experience with design for manufacturability, tolerance analysis, and mechanical testing methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
