TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified ER/Trauma RN in Salem, Massachusetts, 01970!

ED Observation Registered Nurse

Location

Salem, MA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 36 Hours per Week | Rotating Days, Evenings, and Nights | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to adult patients in a 16-bed ED Observation unit, including patients on observation status and holds
  • Perform general ED nursing skills including patient assessment, IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
  • Read and interpret telemetry strips for continuous cardiac monitoring
  • Document patient care accurately using Epic, ASAP, and Clin Doc EMR systems
  • Maintain a clinician-to-patient ratio of 4:1 or 5:1 depending on unit needs
  • Float to other units as required and rotate across all shifts
Required Qualifications
  • Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a single ED setting, plus 2 years of travel nursing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • AHA ACLS certification (current)
  • PALS certification (current)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience in an ED Observation or ED holding unit environment
  • Familiarity with Epic, ASAP, and Clin Doc charting systems
  • Strong critical thinking skills and experience with patient education in an emergency care setting
