Job description

The Phoenix Charter Academy Network manages a growing portfolio of free, open-enrollment, college preparatory public high schools in Massachusetts. The Phoenix Network currently manages three schools, public charter schools in Chelsea and Springfield and a district school in Lawrence, serving a total of 500 students. Phoenix Chelsea and Phoenix Springfield are two of only four Commonwealth charter schools that actively recruit older, disconnected, and underserved students and empower them for college success through high academic expectations and relentless support. The network plans to operate additional schools in the coming years to serve 1,000 students.
Basic Duties include:
  • Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, washing floors, cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, polishing and waxing floors, disinfecting surfaces, and cleaning common areas as assigned
  • Collect and dispose of refuse
  • Replaces lights
  • Perform minor repairs to furniture, building, and equipment, reporting and repairs that may need professional attention.
  • Shovel snow during inclement weather; may also be required to maintain grounds surrounding building
  • May at times be needed to perform minor repairs and plumbing as directed
  • Move and set up furniture and equipment
  • Paints interior spaces as needed
  • Keep equipment and supplies maintained and stored properly
  • Adhere to all compliances, safety, and security as it pertains to OSHA regulations
  • Assists with special event support
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Must have related experience in facilities maintenance
  • Submit to and pass criminal offender records check (C.O.R.I.), (S.O.R.I.) and fingerprinting
  • General knowledge of building cleaning, cleaning materials, and methods.
