  • Schedule Management: Maintain and follow the speech provider's weekly service schedule to ensure students arrive promptly for scheduled appointments.
  • Student Escort & Transitions: Safely transport students to and from their general or special education classrooms to the designated speech room.
  • Material & Technology Support: Prepare physical manipulatives, worksheets, and digital tools as directed by the remote SLP.
  • Behavior Management: Utilize positive reinforcement, prompt hierarchies, and individual behavior plans to keep students focused and regulated during sessions.
  • Data & Communication: Assist in tracking session attendance and communicate regularly with general education teachers, special educators, and the remote speech provider.
  • Other Support: Provide additional classroom or administrative support as designated by school administration during unscheduled speech times.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certification: Active Para Educator II Certification in New Hampshire (NH ED 504.04 compliant) required.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree or 48+ college credits preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with elementary or middle school children, particularly students with IEPs or speech-language needs, is highly desirable.
  • Tech Literacy: Comfortable using video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet), laptops, tablets, and basic educational software.
  • Clearances: Must successfully complete a state and federal criminal background check and fingerprinting.

Key Skills & Abilities

  • Patience, warmth, and strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while taking direction from a remote provider.
  • Strong organizational skills to keep track of rotating student schedules.

Working Hours & Compensation

  • Hours: 8:15 AM 2:45 PM daily
  • Lunch: 30-minute unpaid duty-free lunch daily
  • Compensation: Based on District Collective Bargaining Agreement / Step Scale
  • Benefits: Eligible for district benefits
