Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and comprehensive evaluations to develop effective treatment plans that address the specific needs and goals of clients.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, using techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and solution-focused brief therapy, to facilitate client progress.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ethical standards, ensuring that client records are secure and up-to-date.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in mental health research and continue professional growth through attendance at workshops and training sessions.
• Engage in regular case consultations with multidisciplinary team members to coordinate care and enhance treatment effectiveness.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse client population that includes individuals, couples, and families who are navigating various mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Our clients come from diverse backgrounds, and your ability to build rapport and establish trust will be paramount in helping them achieve their therapy goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required. An advanced degree (Master's or Doctoral) is preferred.
• An active and unrestricted license to practice as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of 2 years of direct counseling experience, ideally within a clinical setting or community health environment.
• Strong foundational knowledge of therapeutic practices and ethical guidelines related to counseling.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with clients from various demographics.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in working with specific populations such as children, adolescents, or families.
• Specialization or certification in areas such as trauma-focused therapy, substance abuse counseling, or couples therapy.
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and telehealth platforms.
