Job description

Join Crimson as a Boarding & Day School Interview Mentor - Empower the Next Generation of Global Leaders!
Are you passionate about revolutionizing education and making a meaningful impact on future generations?
Crimson Education is a Series C global EdTech startup, founded in 2013, with a bold vision: to transform students into the world leaders of tomorrow through personalized education and technology. With a presence in 28 countries and a team of 700+ professionals, we connect over 3,000 tutors and mentors with students aiming for admission to top universities or career pathways around the globe.
The Role
As a Boarding & Day School Interview Mentor, you'll coach students through one of the most personal and high-stakes parts of the admissions process - the interview. Drawing on your firsthand experience in a school admissions office, you'll help students articulate their story, present with confidence, and walk into their interviews prepared. You'll work with a globally diverse student base, partnering closely with families and Crimson strategists to give each student the best possible shot at their target schools.
Who We're Looking For
  • Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from a top 30 U.S. college.
  • Direct experience working in an admissions office at a competitive US boarding or day school is a must, including a proven track record of evaluating or supporting students through the admissions process. We will not progress your application without this.
  • Interview coaching or student-facing mentoring experience
  • At least 10 hours of availability per week
  • You're passionate about education and enjoy working with young people - ideally you've already got experience mentoring or coaching students
  • You're detail-oriented with strong planning and organizational skills
  • You've got fantastic verbal and written communication skills

Required Qualities
  • Vericant interview experience (strongly preferred) - Has coached students for or personally conducted Vericant video interviews, and understands the platform's format, scoring rubric, and common pitfalls for candidates (nerves on camera, unscripted follow-up questions, time constraints).
  • Deep familiarity with elite boarding and day school admissions expectations, interview formats, and evaluation criteria
  • Ability to quickly identify and strengthen a student's personal narrative and presentation style
  • Warm, engaging energy when working with young students and their families
  • Effective interpretation of parent concerns and needs, with the ability to partner through challenging student situations

Supporting Skills
  • High sensitivity and professionalism in all communication
  • High attention to detail
  • Adapts well in high-pressure, deadline-driven situations
  • Responds positively to critical feedback
  • Ability to cast long-term vision while narrowing to short-term practical strategy

Time Commitment
  • Approximately 5-10 hours per week, with flexible scheduling
  • You choose which students to work with
  • Mentors commit to supporting students through to app completion

Compensation
Compensation reflects your professional background, expertise, and educational experience. You are paid for live session time, which includes the session itself plus preparation, session summary, and any follow-up research.
Why Crimson?
  • Work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Make a real impact on students' futures
  • Enjoy global reach with the flexibility of remote work
  • Use cutting-edge technology to empower learning
